Join us at the Coronado Historical Association on, Friday, November 15th as we welcome esteemed local author and naval aviator George Galdorisi to share on his book Leave No Man Behind: The Saga of Combat Search and Rescue.
Leave No Man Behind dives into the nearly 100 years of Combat Search and Rescue. It begins with the birth of combat aircraft in WWI and chronicles the first attempts to rescue warriors behind enemy lines and spans to the early conflicts in Iraq. He and his Co-author Tom Phillips, who are both veteran U.S. Navy helicopter pilots, extensively researched the heroes who risked their lives to save their fellow comrades. They collected the previously untold stories of these service members and were able to bring to life the successes and failures of each mission.
The “Wine & Lecture: Leave No Man Behind” will be held Friday, November 15th from with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and the lecture beginning promptly at 6:00 pm.
