Our mission at these meetings is to provide a supportive environment where we can help each other to cope with life as it comes in a positive way, to find acceptance in mutual support and to ease our isolation.
This is a community outreach, supported by the Church and co-sponsored by the Special Education Parent Networking Group, but with no motivation other than to accompany one another on this very particular journey we share. The environment is one of trust, confidentiality and mutual support. A person’s spirituality may emerge amidst the struggles and graces shared, but nothing is to be imposed. Meetings are open to parents and primary care providers of children and adults with special needs. These needs cover a vast range of situations from a child with mental health issues, addiction, medical conditions or long term illnesses; developmental, physical, or learning disabilities; or children recovering from serious accidents that require extensive long term treatment.
Joy shared is a joy multiplied,
A sorrow shared is a sorrow divided.
