Join us to hear author Tom Leech speak on his recent book Fun on the Job: Amusing and true tales from Rosie-the-Riveters to Rocket Scientists at a Major (San Diego) Aerospace Company (that company is San Diego’s General Dynamics, also known as Consolidated Aircraft, Convair, General Dynamics/GD, Astronautics, Space Systems and more).  At various times over 45,000 employees worked for this firm, producing valuable aviation-related products, including B-24 bombers, Convair airliners, Atlas/Centaur weapon systems and space boosters, Tomahawk Cruise Missiles and more.
When retired employees gather for frequent gatherings, the funny tales fly back and forth. Tom started gathering their humorous anecdotes from people employed over 6 decades at this company. In Tom's book, he has assembled a whole bunch of those stories, from operations, products and locations throughout the U.S. and international operations.  These jolly tales will stir readers’ humor buttons from their own work experiences, whether retired or currently employed. Tom will share with us many of those stories, some indeed going back to Rosies employed at the Consolidated factory at Lindbergh Field.  And needless to say, those with aviation, aerospace and defense ties will find many fun stories they’ll readily relate to.
