Coronado is ideally situated to explore the region. Less than 10 miles from San Diego International Airport and Santa Fe Train Depot (Amtrak station), the drive takes about 10 minutes. A cab ride will cost approximately $30 from the airport. Los Angeles is approximately two hours north (depending on traffic), Legoland is 40 minutes, and the U.S.-Mexico border is 20 minutes south.
Driving Directions to the Coronado Visitor Center
To arrive in Coronado, simply take the I-5 to the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge/Highway 75. No need to stop at the toll booth; there’s no longer a toll to cross the bridge. Speed limit is 25 miles per hour once you drive onto the island, so just relax and adjust to Island tempo! You’ll be sharing the road with many cyclists, and even a golf cart or two.
Turn left on Orange Ave (this is the main street of Coronado). Drive 1 mile on Orange Ave and you’ll see the Coronado Visitor Center at 1100 Orange Avenue--just where Orange Ave begins to curve to the left. Our friendly Ambassadors are here to assist you.
