Parking on the Island

Parking on residential streets is allowed during the day in most areas. It may take some time to find parking during the summer and holiday periods, so please be prepared. Parking along Ocean Boulevard at Coronado’s Central Beach is free, but spaces fill quickly. RVs under 24 feet in length can park on any street for 72 hours, but cannot be used as a residence. Larger vehicles require a permit. Parking is available on both sides of Orange Avenue in the shopping district; it’s often easier to find parking on streets east of Orange Avenue. Metered parking is free on Sundays and holidays, and only 25 cents per hour otherwise.

Parking at the Coronado Ferry Landing allows you a front row spot to visit its shops, restaurants, or ride the Ferry (including the Commuter Ferry).

A Laid-Back Speed
As you drive into Coronado, take the opportunity to slow down to the relaxed island pace. The speed limit is 25 miles per hour all over the island, and you’ll be sharing the road with lots of cyclists and even a golf cart or two. Expect a steady stream of traffic on Orange Avenue, especially during the summer months.
