Coronado Arts, Culture & Media

When a little island has three theaters, you know its residents love their culture!  Lamb’s Players is housed in the magnificent Spreckels building with amphitheater style seating offering excellent sightlines to the stage from every position. Another must-visit is the Village Movie Theatre, a beautifully restored art deco treasure and hub of the Coronado Island Film Festival each November. Summer is synonymous with the Concerts in the Park series and our lovely light-filled public library is soon to play host to the next San Diego Writer’s Festival.

Looking for something to read on the beach? As well as a fantastic range of options at Bay Books, Coronado has two glossy monthlies: Coronado Magazine and Crown City Magazine, available for free at newstands around the island or you can enjoy their entertaining and inspiring content online.

Brand new: Combine art and sunshine by engaging with the City of Coronado’s Public Art Walking Tour App – showcasing 70 artworks around the island.
